The 5th wheel on the wagon traditionally refers to a replacement wheel, or in a social context to  “someone who is unnecessary, unwanted, or feels out of place in a group, similar to how a fifth wheel on a wagon would be superfluous.”

But the 5th wheel for us is radically different: it is a truly special and even enchanting wheel. So special that we consider it a talisman or even magic potion —  which we carry in our wagon for that reason.

This transformation of course changes the meaning of feeling like the 5th wheel (in the wagon).

More fundamentally, it lies at the heart of what this project stands for.

In today’s fast paced, increasingly chaotic and artificial society, more and more of us start feeling estranged, are getting tired of superficial small talk, etc. As a result, we may start feeling like the 5th wheel on the wagon. We no longer want to keep up.

It’s those folks who are especially welcome here. Those who are craving more depth, are looking for a deeper conversation, a genuine connection, or in general for deep inner peace. Not because they are the fifth wheel on the wagon, even if they are feeling like it.

But because they are the fifth wheel in the wagon. The real deal. They are the ones getting in touch with their true nature (again), but getting punished for it by an increasingly artificial society. They are the ones who we will need to build new structures when the old ones started crumbling.

Not that I’m here to make all of that happen. But a strong counterweight is needed against all of the artificial societal pressure. So every piece of help is welcome. And 5WiW is here for exactly that.

Still here?

I just tried to explain the concept that was shown to me in some type of vision.

A vision that came after I had had an out-of-this-world experience.

In the Arctic.

With a wagon (=van).

Immeasurable vastness.

Unspeakable beauty.

Unimaginably deep peacefulness.

The impact on my being was so profound that it was either
(1) me moving up to that area or
(2) trying to integrate here in Central Europe what I experienced up there in the north.

The van is the center piece of an attempt to do the latter.

And the wheel? Helps to make the conceptual point.
But is actually also a real wheel which has some special powers in and of itself.

5WiW = 5th Wheel in the Wagon was born.
